Come and play with me!

Come and play with me! 1

His son used to ask him to hurry up and finish his smoke so he can come and play with him.

Arie started smoking from about 15, he's now 33. With a partner and two small children he decided to quit for his kids, his health and to save money.

Arie started smoking from about the age of 15 (now 33) and has a partner and two children – a son aged 6 and a daughter aged 2 ½. His reasons for quitting were money, health and his children. Although his children haven’t specifically asked him to quit, being quite young, they are affected by it. His son often asked him to hurry up and finish his smoke so he can come and play with him. This encouraged him to quit enabling him to spend more time with his children and also be a positive role model for them too.
Being a shift worker, he works one week on, one week off, which is another reason why he values the time he has with his kids.
Arie has been quit for 2 weeks now (cold turkey, but been using the My QuitBuddy app). He said that this week had been a bit harder due to being his week off as he found it easier when at work and keeping busy. He’s been trying to keep busy at home by cleaning up the house and cooking.
